Too many Marylanders are working harder, yet still struggling to make ends meet. I believe that all workers are entitled to safe workplaces, fair compensation and benefits, and the right to unionize and bargain collectively. We must recommit ourselves to building an economy for everyone. That means a livable wage, affordable housing, fairness in the tax code and the structure for our elderly citizens to age in place.

Climate change has disrupted and damaged multiple aspects of our lives. We’ve experienced its impact on property, livelihood, and health, from extreme weather events like storms and wildfires that have destroyed homes and businesses, to increases in respiratory illnesses. We need a fundamental change in how we deal with issues pertaining to climate and environmental justice.

Healthcare is a human right. I believe that every Marylander deserves high-quality, affordable healthcare and no one should die or suffer permanent harm from medical conditions that could have been prevented or treated. Access to mental health and community health services and life-saving prescription drugs must be available to everyone.

We must invest in our public schools to provide students, teachers, and parents with the programs, resources, and tools they need to succeed. Too many of our residents can’t afford higher education or technical training. I will seek solutions at the state level to help improve education and relieve student debt for local residents.
